Abstracts

W artykule zaprezentowano zakres badań demograficzno-społecznych prowadzonych przez Główny Urząd Statystyczny w całym powojennym okresie, nieco szerzej opisując działania prowadzone w ostatnim dwudziestoleciu. W krótkim historycznym ujęciu przedstawiono źródła danych statystycznych wykorzystywanych w działalności Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego do obserwacji procesów reprodukcji ludności i migracji, zmian struktur ludności i gospodarstw domowych, a także sytuacji zdrowotnej ludności. W kolejnej części Autorki omówiły szerzej badania i opracowania, wskazując nie tylko na rozszerzanie ich zakresu tematycznego, ale również rozwój stosowanej metodologii. Na koniec wskazano główne przesłanki zmian zakresu badań demograficzno-społecznych i ich metodologii — rosnące potrzeby informacyjne odbiorców danych statystycznych, dostosowywanie badań do zaleceń organizacji międzynarodowych, a przede wszystkim konieczność bardziej adekwatnej obserwacji i pomiaru coraz bardziej złożonych i dynamicznych procesów ludnościowych.(abstrakt oryginalny)

In the article the scope of socio-demographic surveys carried out by CSO in the whole after war period, describing a little bit wider activities conducted in the last twenty years, was presented. In the short historical approach the statistical data sources used in Central Statistical Office activity were observed. They were used to observe process of population and migration reproduction, changes of population and households structures and also population health situation. In the next part the Authors described widely surveys and elaborations, indicating not only the extension of its subject scope but also the development of applied methodology. Finally, the main premises of changes of socio-demographic scope and its methodology — growing information needs of statistical data users, surveys adjustment to international organizations' recommendations and first of all the necessity of more adequate observation and measure of more complex and dynamic population processes — were pointed out.(original abstract)
