Jednym z ogólnych pytań, które pojawia się w analizie wielowymiarowych zbiorów danych, jest ich graficzna prezentacja. Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka metody wizualizacji zbiorów wielowymiarowych - metody równoległych współrzędnych (parallel coordinates plots - PCP, w skrócie ║-coords lub PCs), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem możliwości jej zastosowania w empirycznych badaniach statystycznych.

One of general questions, which appears in the analysis of multi-dimensional data sets, is their graphical presentation. Using the parallel coordinate method developed and popularized by A. Inselberg, is proposed as a settlement of the problem. Main ideas of the method as well as an example of its using are presented in the article. Results of the analysis are shown graphically. The described method can prove to be a useful tool to receive and visualize information on multi-dimensional object sets.(original abstract)
