Abstracts

W artykule przedstawiono wysiłki państwowych urzędów statystycznych i statystycznych agend organizacji międzynarodowych mających na celu lepsze treści adaptacyjnych i informacji statystycznych do zmieniających się potrzeb głównych grup użytkowników informacji. W artykule omówiono znaczenie informacji statystycznych w podejmowaniu społecznych i ekonomicznych decyzji. Jednocześnie w artykule sformułowano kilka ogólnych zaleceń, jak mierzyć postęp społeczny i jakość życia obywateli?. Szczególną uwagę przywiązuje się do oceny aktualnego stanu dyskusji na temat informacji statystycznych oraz proponowanych zmian, (tzw. raport Stiglitz-Sen-Fitoussi). Dokonano przeglądu prac nad pomiarem postępu społeczno-gospodarczego oraz warunków i jakości życia ludności.

The article characterizes efforts of national and international statistical services to better adopt contents and forms of statistics dissemination to changing requirements of primary user groups. A statistical information importance for socio-economic decision makers is discussed in the study. There are some demands for statistics concerning improvement of the citizen life condition and quality measurement taking into consideration rational aspects of the nature and culture resource management. Special attention was paid to assess today statistical information systems as well as change proposals presented in the Stiglitz- -Sen-Fitoussi Report on Economic Performance and Social Progress Measurement. The Authors discuss activities concerning the welfare and social progress measurement conducted under the aegis of the OECD, i.e. World Project on Social Progress Measurement as well as studies conducted within the European Statistical System.
