From among the many companies active amidst Polish reality, there is a significant group that aims high and is trying to implement advanced standards in human resource management. They have been participating in the HRML Competition for the past seven years - a competition that promotes best practice in the area of human resource management through acknowledging and honoring those companies that are successful in this area and can therefore serve as reference points for other organizations. An effort has been made to define the main trends in the area of HRM that are present in Polish reality on the basis of analyses of actions and achievements of companies striving to win the competition. Among the most important, worth noting is the increase in HRM professionalism, skills at managing HR subject to an unstable and changing environment, and a shift toward the strategic HRM and the human capital model.
