On March 29 1998, 232 copper shillings of Jan Casimir (1648-1668) were presented to Tomaszow Lubelski museum. It was a part of greater hoard (approx. 500 ex.) discovered in the forest near Ulów; the rest of it has been dispersed. The coins were buried at a depth of abort 20 cm, without protection. Within the group, 122 coins (53%) were Lithuanian and 109 (47%) Polish. The oldest coins are from 1660, the youngest from 1666. (2 figures)
