The toponym of three mining settlements in the Czech Republic is Zuckmantel. Explanation of the origin of this name has not been clearly elucidated, perhaps because it has never been associated with mining activities in their neighborhood. This common denominator gave me an idea to look in the old German mining dictionaries. It was in the time when I was dealing with the occurrence of old tin placers on the southern slopes of the Ore Mountains under the mountain Pramenáč.
