The article presents the problem of the death motif in the works of the contemporary Arab women poets. It concentrates on the models which are undertaken by contemporary poets such as: 1) signs of knightly ethos: bravery; devotion to homeland; military equipment, 2) signs of faith: preparation for death; reconciliation with god; readiness to join god, 3) signs of heroism: lonely death of a hero; desperate decision; strong ideological motivation; uncommonness (miracles, fantastic events); apotheosis. The authoress has analyzed examples of the death motif - motif of body's decay, the ashes motif or the motif of light, meaning the substance of extraterrestrial. Generally death is seen in the 'qur'an' as one of the largest tragedies that strike a human being. On the one hand, what is to be feared is inevitability of death and, on the other, not knowing when and how one will die. The woman poets create a chronicle of struggle, using traditional examples and while developing them, they instill the belief in the pride of martyr's death to future generation.
