Extramarital births and extramarital fertility are useful indicator of family change in Poland. In the article attention was given to few facets of family change - i.e. decline in ties within the triad marriage-sex-procreation, cultural break between successive cohorts in domain of demographic behaviours, and spatial differences in pace of changes in family formation patterns.
