The globalization of world markets is one of the reasons why companies undertake business activity via concentration and centralization of capital. The ineffectiveness of companies, especially in the face of new competition on the market, is the main incentive for creating different forms of the concentration of capital. In many countries all around the world, including Poland, the consolidation of enterprises is an excellent tool for improving the competitiveness of companies. Business fusions constitute a currently discussed topic in the field of economy, both in theory and practice. Thus, the focus of the article is going to be an analysis of the factors determining mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on the Polish market.
