The article is devoted to the studies about verb which ares expounded in J. Blonytsky's 18th century book on the Ukrainian grammar 'Grammatika nova starago i slavnago yazyka slavenskago'. The grammatical categories of verb, features of his conjugation ar analyzed in comparison with the grammar of M. Smotrytsky, on theoretical principles of which the grammar of J.Blonytsky is based.
