In the article the author asks how to read and understand Nietzsche's work correctly. A basic framework for this question is circumscribed by existing styles of reception, evaluation of Nietzsche's testimony, and confrontation of his methodological consciousness and intention with the methodological consciousness of contemporary scholars. In conclusion, though there is not the only unfailing method to read and understand Nietzsche 'correctly', some styles of reading seem to be more acceptable than others. On the one hand, we should not neglect the structure of his work, but on the other, in order to defend the autonomy of interpretation, we should avoid blind following the style of reading, as is suggested by Nietzsche himself.
