The article presents an insight into the old age pension system in Luxembourg. There, the author's goal was to present both past and present solutions employed by the Luxembourgish pension system, in search for ideas worth consideration in international comparisons. In the summary, the author highlights as a particular Luxembourgish approach the possibility to receive reimbursement of the contributions paid for the base pension insurance after reaching the age of 65 in case a person is not entitled to the pension benefit,
