The 'Tygodnik Informacyjny Fakty' weekly was published from 1997 to 1998. The article aims to outline the circumstances of the weekly's establishment, publishing formula and structure as well as the main factors contributing to its closure. The weekly was under continuous criticism from right-wing papers for its affiliation with the government. No other paper in Poland seems to have experienced such hostility, especially at the initial phase of operation. Criticism targeted at the weekly became a tool for the opposition in the political warfare against the leftist government.
