Abstracts

EN
The myth of the Golden Age is present in each of Virgil's poetical works: 'Eclogues', 'Georgics' and 'Aeneid'. Virgil exploits it to express his most important opinions on the present-day world. Its meaning and function evolve from escapist in the Arcadian 'Bucolics' to more consistent with Augustan propaganda in 'Aeneid'.
