The article deals with problems of professional activity of women in the Bełchatów region, which is being industrialized at the present time. There is a close correlation between the above problem and industrialization processes. It is revealed both in quantitative changes and in qualitative changes in the employment structure of women. Increase in the number of women employed in sectors two and three is due to attractiveness of newly created jobs in the regions under industrialization. Moreover big importance may be contributed to the process of "families reunion" which is taking place in the second and third stages of industrialization. On the other hand, structural changes (in a region of intensive investing these are primarily shifts of working women from sector one to sector two) result from changes in ownership relations in the agriculture, in the agrarian structure, and they can also be connected with the above mentioned attractiveness aspect of jobs outside the agriculture. The analysis of professional activity of women in the Bełchatów Industrial Region was perfomed on the basis of accessible statistical data from the years 1970-1975. There were also taken into account projections for 1980-1990.
