Various Concepts of Monetary Unification in the North America

Abstracts
Creating of the euro has increasingly focused attention on the question of fixed exchange rales versus flexible exchange rates. The purpose of this article is the presentation of different concepts of monetary integration on the territory of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The proposition of monetary unification in NAFTA which are presented in the article are as follows: currency board, dollarization and creation of the North American Monetary Union (NAMU) with the common currency called amero. The author points out however that without American agreement none of the mentioned ideas can be implemented.
