The problems of employment and investment outlays are the subject of interest a lot of economists and politicians. In the first part of the article the meaning of the different economic structures in the economy was discussed. Then, the article describes the changes in employment and investment outlays structures in manufacturing in Poland during the transformation processes. Research data also indicate that manufacturing plays an important role in the Polish industry. In conclusion, the author presents results of the research which show that changes in employment structures were weaker than in investment outlays.
