Prosumption on the energy market is a relatively new phenomenon, but with high development potential. This is evidenced by the experience of many European countries. The development of this type of production, however, is strongly determined by the legal and economic milieu of renewable energy sector. The aim of the article is to present the idea of prosumtion on the energy market with legal – economic determinants of such activities in Poland, and then assessment of experiences in the light of the theory of transaction costs.

Prosumpcja na rynku energii jest zjawiskiem stosunkowo nowym, ale o dużym potencjale rozwojowym. Świadczą o tym doświadczenia wielu krajów europejskich. Rozwój tego typu produkcji jest jednak silnie zdeterminowany przez otoczenie prawno-ekonomiczne sektora energetyki odnawialnej. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie idei prosumenckiego wytwarzania energii i prawno – ekonomicznych uwarunkowań takiej działalności w Polsce a następnie ocena doświadczeń w świetle teorii kosztów transakcyjnych.
