Analyzing the situation of women on the British labour market, the article presents first changes in their occupational activity according to age in the past decade and changes envisaged till the year 2000. We can observe a systematic Increase in occupational activity indices and diminishing differences Ьetween occupational activity of women and men. Despite that a different model of women’s employment continues to prevail. They are employed in specific sectors of the economy and in a relatively limited range of jobs. Their pay is also lower. They usually take part-time Jobs. The main attention In the article has been paid to the problem of wages, unemployment, and part-time jobs.
