The aim of the article is to prove or reject the hypothesis of influence of tourist traffic on particular elements of demographic, spatial and socio-economic structures of Chałupy and Kuźnica. It has teen assumed that the development of touristic and recreational traffic in those seaside localities contributes towards a growth of wealth of their local residents, expressed e.g. in building new big houses equipped with standard amenities, and also in changes of demographic and professional structures. An indirect effect of the process is a change in spatial configuration of the village and its physiognomy.
