Abstracts
The city of Lodz is strictly connected with Piotrkowska Street which is the heart and the symbol of the city. We can easily find stories of specific men and their images which are related to Piotrkowska Street. The street is also presented as a space which in a visual way exposes men commonly considered as important ones for the culture of the place. Thanks to clashing tradition with modernity plenty of examples of men characters were created. The researcher restores, with special care, marginal and little-known pictures to social remembrance. The men of Piotrkowska Street are great and insignificant, wellknown and nameless, exceptional and ordinary as well.
