A beautiful tradition from the Second Republic of Poland was revived in Spała – the place of Harvest Festival under the auspices of Polish President Ignacy Mościcki, after above 60 years. President Aleksander Kwaśniewski patronized that event in 2000–2003. The Harvest Festival was resumed after a 6 years of not explained break and Polish President Lech Kaczynski patronized the event in 2009. Since that year Spała has become the capital of Polish agriculture. In the last three years, I was responsible for organization of the wreathing part. Program of the nationwide Harvest Festivals was similar every year, including: - Competition for the most beautiful wreath - Thanksgiving Mass. - Harvest procession - Speech of the President to farmers - Singing and giving the prettiest wreath to presidential couple - Artistic part. In occasional folders issued on the Harvest Festival, I wrote about: the bread in folk tradition, work and celebration, and the songs sung at courtly and peasant harvest festival.
