The article presents the results of a survey that the Department of Labour and Social Policy carried out in 2006 to assess problems with work-life balance as experienced by employees in the Lodz region. The article provides the employees’ general assessment of the quality of the work-life balance, as well as discussing the stressogenic factors in the workplace and occupational problems disturbing employees’ work-life balance. The article also presents the effect of various factors, such as employee’s age, sex, family situation, type of employment or firm’s profile on the worklife balance felt by employees in the Lodz region.
