The problem of remodelling the international monetary system is analyzed in the context of a wide r problem of remodelling the world economic relations along equitable democratic principles. 'The author discusses the postwar history of the world monetary system and evaluates its present state. He analyzes differences in approaches of the highly developed capitalist countries and the Third World countries as well as their groupings to problems connected with a reform of international financial relations, causes of these differences and concept of reforms. Special attention has been paid to the problem of foreign indebtedness. There is discussed the stance of sociall at countries in this field and posibilities of their influence on the phenomenon of foreign indebtedness in the light of various initiatives advanced on th international forum by these countries so far.
