The article shows the test of the answer to two questions: 1) the motivation of the externally students to begin economic studies, 2) the estimate o f quantitative methods usefulness in the professional work (current and future). To get the answer for above-cited questions, one survey research was made among students of the extra-mural economic studies at Faculty of Economics of West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, year 2008/2009.
