Abstracts
The paper discusses the evolution of foreign direct investment theory in host countries within several recent decades. It is a theoretical representation of the reasons behind FDI decisions. First part of the paper outlines various classifications of foreign direct investment theories in synthetic terms. However, the main goal of the paper is to identify, based on the FDI theory, the factors which determine FDI from the point of view of a foreign investor. J. H. Dunning's theory features among the most important mentioned here as the one the most frequently mentioned in studies on foreign direct investment.
