Utilization of research findings constitutes the weakest link in the scientific-technical cycle as well as the main cause of their insufficient economic effectiveness. The present system of big industrial amalgamations, grouping besides production plants also their own research centros, does not provide - despite assumptions - sufficients, stimuli for full utilization of research findings furnished by own research centres. Shortcomings in functioning of this system pose obstacles in the industry having economical, organizational, and even psychological background, which hamper the process of practical application of research findings. These obstacles and mechanism of their formation have been submitted to detailed analysis in this article. It is, however, not only the industry but also research and development centres which should be blamed for the unwillingiess of the industry to apply their research findings, and especially those which are not fully completed or do not provide prerequisites for satisfactory production and economical effects. Recognition of complex and oftentime mutually interlinking causes of insufficient utilization of results furnished by industrial researches may pave the way for couteracting their negative effects.
