The article represents a theoretical attempt at definition of links between social awareness and widely understood conditions of life. Thus in the general methodological part the analysis referred to main theses of marxism. Apart from the thesis about a relationship between existence and awareness there was also briefly discussed a conviction about the relationship between social transformation on macro scale (including awareness) and changes in social relations on micro scale. The analysis is focussed on the socialist enterprise. The postulate of examining the contents and changes in awareness at this level results from the accepted thesis that against the example of the enterprise rather than of other objects it is easier to observe relationships between micro — and macro elements. The examples quoted here illustrate extensively the existence of this relationship in conditions of the socialist society. Social awareness can be empirically determined in sociological researches. Observations identifying the awareness and oriented at determination of regularity in the field of processes and factors shaping the awareness are possible in the following areas: 1) of the working class awareness, as a productive force; 2) of the political awareness; 3) of the awareness ensuing from the role of a joint owner; 4) of the socio-political awareness.
