The publication is an extended report from the restoration works of a ceramic prehistoric vessel conducted by the author. The prehistoric vessel of Pomeranian culture was acquired for the museum collection as a result of an action undertaken by Józef Błachnio in 1960s. The conservation intervention regarding this vessel – an urn – was undertaken at the turn of 2020 and 2021. The content of the urn was preserved in its original arrangement and what is interesting is that the consolidation of the content was so consistent that it did not scatter even after the reduction of the walls of the ceramic vessel. It enabled to recognize the stratigraphy of the content of the urn without the need to explore it. The restoration of the vessel was conducted without any exploration of the content. This decision, consistent with conservation doctrine, made it possible to preserve the content, completeness and documentary value of the object. Documentary X-ray photos were taken which enabled to learn the content of the interior of the urn without the necessiity to explore it. The ceramic fragments underwent anastylosis, and the defects were reconstructed with the use of mineral mortars.
