The reasons and circumstances for repealing the 3rd Lithuanian Statute in Belarus and Lithuania have not yet been explained convincingly. The article is devoted to the presentation of the views expressed in previous literature and their confrontation with the position of Russian politicians participating in the introduction of Russian law to replace the Statute.

Die Gründe und die Umstände der Aufhebung des 3. Litauischen Statuts auf dem Gebiet Weißrusslands und Litauens wurden bis heute nicht überzeugend geklärt. In dem Artikel werden die bisherigen der Literatur zu entnehmenden Ansichten dazu präsentiert und mit der Position russischer Politiker konfrontiert, die an dem Vorhaben der Einführung der russischen Gesetzgebung anstelle des Statuts beteiligt waren.
