In the present publication the author is taking up an important problem of management of work agencies. Efficient work agancies result from efficient management. This management has its specific features and functions, that derive from the law regulations that are imposed on offices by the legislator. The author as an employee of work agency of many years is discussing basic tasks, competences and duties of work agencies managers, presenting various models of work agancies. He states that in proper management of work agencies the most important are professional competences of employees in public services.
