Artykuł dotyczy dynamiki współczesnych stosunków europejskich wraz z następstwami tego procesu. Wskazano zarówno na wyeliminowanie źródeł mogących zagrażać bezpieczeństwu jeszcze kilkanaście lat temu, jak i konieczność stawienia czoła nowym wyzwaniom. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na najpoważniejszą kategorię obecnych wyzwań, jakimi są zagrożenia asymetryczne, pojawiające się na płaszczyznach niemilitarnych, takie jak cyberterroryzm czy problemy bezpieczeństwa energetycznego. Przyniosła je ze sobą cywilizacja i postęp społeczny, zajmując miejsce konfl iktów międzypaństwowych. Zaprezentowano przykłady zawierające w sobie potencjalne ryzyko kryzysu, mogące mieć niebagatelny wpływ na bezpieczeństwo zarówno europejskie, jak i globalne.

This article deals with the dynamics of present European relations and the consequences of its process which follow. The elimination of sources that could have threatened security in the past as well as the necessity to face new challenges, are discussed. Particular attention is paid to the most serious category of current challenges such as asymmetrical threats, which appear on non-military levels, such as cyber-terrorism and energy security problems. They were brought about by civilization and social progress, and are taking the place of interstate conflicts. Examples are given of the potential risk of the crisis, which could have a substantial impact on both European and global security.
