Tekst został poświęcony rekonstrukcji językowego obrazu dumy narodowej we współczesnej publicystyce. W tym celu wykorzystano kognitywną metodę profilowania. Wyodrębniono dwa zupełnie odmienne profile – dziejowy oraz psychologiczny. W obrębie profilu dziejowego, reprezentującego konserwatywny punkt widzenia, eksponowane są historyczne podstawy dumy – wyjątkowość losu narodu polskiego, odwaga i uświęcająca ofiara przodków – jej wspólnototwórczy charakter i moc wpływania na dzieje, a także konieczność aktywnego jej kształtowania jako istotnego atrybutu narodu. Profil psychologiczny, związany z liberalnym punktem widzenia, wynika z odmiennej perspektywy. Duma narodowa prezentowana jest jako uczucie groźne, wyrosłe z narodowych kompleksów i słabości państwowej oraz prowadzące do nieuzasadnionego poczucia wyższości i niebezpiecznego nacjonalizmu.

This text is dedicated to the reconstruction of the linguistic picture of national pride in contemporary weeklies. For this purpose, the cognitive profiling method was used. As a result, two different profiles – historical and psychological – have been distinguished. Within the historical profile, connected with a conservative point of view, the historical foundations of pride are exposed: the uniqueness of the Polish nation and its history, courage and the sacrifice of ancestors. The community-forming character of national pride and its potency to influence history are underlined as well, as the need to actively shape it as an essential attribute of the nation. The psychological profile associated with the liberal point of view is connected with a different perspective. National pride is presented as a threatening feeling, arising from national complexes and state weakness that leads to a groundless sense of superiority and dangerous nationalism.
