Wanda Błeńska (1911-2014), absolwentka Wydziału Lekarskiego Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego, była w latach 1951-1983 lekarzem naczelnym, a następnie do 1993 roku konsultantem, ośrodka dla trędowatych prowadzonym przez siostry franciszkanki w Buluba i Nyenga w Ugandzie. Nawiązała współpracę z niemieckimi lekarzami i WHO, co pozwoliło jej przekształcić ten ośrodek w nowoczesną placówkę leczenia trądu za pomocą terapii skojarzonej. Jej zapiski udostępniła rodzina dr W. Błeńskiej.

In 1951-1993, Wanda Błeńska (1911-2014), a graduate from the Medical Faculty, the University of Poznan, was the chief physician, and in the following years a consultant of the center for lepers run by the Franciscan Sisters in Buluba and Nyenga, Uganda. Błeńska cooperated with German doctors and WHO, which allowed her to transform the center into a modern leprosy treatment facility offering multi-drug therapy. Her notes come were made available by the family of Dr. W. Błeńska.
