Educational establishments have for years been seen as organizations in which various social groups function. Each of them is guided by different goals in creating a school community. The diversity of interests increases the possibility of conflicts between members of the group. The director plays a key role as the leader of the school. How far people will go in deepening or mitigating any conflicts or disputes is dependent on the director’s way of managing the team. The article aims to show the influence of the leadership style represented by the school director proposed by G. Avery (2008) on the frequency and cause of conflict. An important aspect at work is how to resolve misunderstandings. The author highlights the negative and positive aspects of the occurrence of conflict situations in educational institutions in Poland, which can lead to the further development of these organizations in society.
