Niniejszy artykuł zawiera informacje na temat położenia i kształcenia organistów w wybranych diecezjach polskich od XIX w. do 1992 r. Diecezje pogrupowano według istniejącej wówczas struktury politycznej tych ziem, tzn. według mapy zaborów. W ostatniej części tekstu dokonano porównania zebranych informacji w formie tabeli oraz analizy poszczególnych zagadnień odnoszących się do organistów.

This article contains information about the situation and education of organists in selected Polish dioceses in the period between the nineteenth century and 1992. Dioceses are grouped according to the then existing political structure of these lands, i.e. according to the map of the partitions. In the last part of the text, the collected information is juxtaposed in the form of a table and specific problems relating to organists are analysed.
