Abstracts
The paper contains research results into the functioning of transportation and communication in the conditions of the severe and long winter of 1946–1947. The first part of the text presents the dynamic weather changes. The central paragraphs of the paper demonstrate findings concerning road, railway, and waterways transportation during the first three months of 1947, including the activities to maintain the land routes’ traffic flow and the access to the seaports. The chosen examples made it possible to present the severe winter’s impact on the state’s functioning and everyday life.
Artykuł zawiera wyniki badań dotyczących funkcjonowania transportu i komunikacji w warunkach surowej i długiej zimy 1946/1947 r. W pierwszej części starano się przedstawić dynamiczną zmienność warunków pogodowych. Zasadnicza część zawiera ustalenia dotyczące transportu drogowego, kolejowego i wodnego w pierwszych trzech miesiącach 1947 r. Przedstawiono także działania służące utrzymaniu przejezdności lądowych szlaków komunikacyjnych i dostępu do portów morskich. Pozwoliło to zaprezentować na wybranych przykładach wpływ ciężkiej zimy na funkcjonowanie państwa i życie codzienne.
