The article presents the current inventory, digitalization and research work undertaken in the Archives and Hospice of St. Stanislaus in Rome and, outlines further perspectives in the field of protection, inventory, access to archives and inquiry opportunities related to the Archive’s resources, taking into account the specificity of the collected collections and their importance for the reconstruction of the story of individuals, families and the history of Polish organizations and communities scattered around the world. This, in turn, is important for building the national identity of Poles living abroad.

Artykuł prezentuje dotychczasowe prace inwentaryzacyjne, digitalizacyjne oraz naukowo-badawcze podjęte w Archiwum i Hospicjum św. Stanisława w Rzymie oraz zarysowuje dalsze perspektywy w zakresie ochrony, inwentaryzacji, udostępniania archiwaliów oraz możliwości badawcze związane z zasobami Archiwum, biorąc pod uwagę specyfikę zgromadzonych zbiorów i ich znaczenie dla rekonstrukcji losów poszczególnych osób, rodzin oraz historii organizacji i środowisk polonijnych rozsianych po całym świecie. To z kolei ma istotne znaczenie dla budowania tożsamości narodowej Polaków zamieszkałych poza granicami kraju.
