Discovered in the repository of Stockholm’s Riksarkivet, the source is the first known register of the so-called brandskatt from the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It dates back to the outset of Old Warsaw’s occupation by the Swedish army (1655). Together with other tax registers and Adam Jarzębski’s Gościniec (1643), it allows us to expand the scope of studies on the Swedish system of emergency taxes, and to verify the location of properties in the suburbs of the early modern city.

Odnalezione w zasobie sztokholmskiego Riksarkivet źródło jest pierwszym znanym rejestrem tzw. brandskattu z terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Obojga Narodów. Pochodzi z początku okupacji Starej Warszawy przez wojska szwedzkie (1655). W zestawieniu z innymi spisami podatkowymi i Gościńcem Adama Jarzębskiego (1643) umożliwia pogłębienie studiów nad szwedzkim systemem podatków nadzwyczajnych oraz pozwala na weryfikację położenia nieruchomości na przedmieściach nowożytnego miasta.
