(Porównanie przemówień z punktu widzenia retoryki). Formalna analizawypowiedzi – retoryka – ma długą tradycję w krajach zachodnich. Od czasów starożytnych i przez następne stulecia nauczano jej na uniwersytetach i w szkołach i wywierała silny wpływ na społeczeństwo. W Chinach i Japonii natomiast tradycje są inne. Badacze zaświadczają o obserwowalnych różnicach w sposobie, w jaki uczniowie z różnych kultur piszą teksty. Rodzima kultura piszących/mówców wpływa na ich teksty i przemówienia. Niniejsze studium miało na celu zbadanie, czy istnieją różnice w wystąpieniach esperantystów z różnych tradycji kulturowych. Obiekty badawcze zostały wybrane spośród wykładów wygłoszonych podczas trzeciego sympozjum Nitobe, zorganizowanego w ramach Uniwersalnego Kongresu Esperanta w 2004 r. w Pekinie. Analiza nie potwierdziła jednak wniosków poczynionych przez wielu badaczy. Mimo niepowodzenia autor jest pewny, że bardziej odpowiednia metoda i większa próba mogą pokazać, w jaki sposób kultury rodzime wpływają na esperantystów w ich przemówieniach.
