The themes of marriage and family are in the Church’s enunciations also those of a normative character. The aim of the article was to show how the Decree on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data in the Catholic Church issued by the Polish Episcopal Conference on 13 March 2018 applies to this thematic area. The general conclusion is as follows – the application of the norms of the decree in the field of matrimonial and family matters in the Church is not devoid of theoretical and practical difficulties. Its implementation may contribute to the protection of privacy in the Church.

Tematy dotyczące małżeństwa i rodziny są obecne również w tych enuncjacjach Kościoła, które mają charakter normatywny. Celem artykułu było pokazanie, jak dekret ogólny w sprawie ochrony osób fizycznych w związku z przetwarzaniem danych osobowych w Kościele katolickim, wydany przez Konferencję Episkopatu Polski, w dniu 13 marca 2018 r., ma zastosowanie do tego obszaru tematycznego. Ogólny wniosek jest następujący – zastosowanie norm dekretu na polu spraw małżeńskich i rodzinnych w Kościele nie jest pozbawione teoretycznych i praktycznych trudności. Jednak realizacja norm dekretu KEP może się przyczynić do ochrony prywatności w Kościele.
