ELECTION CAMPAIGN OF CITIZEN’S PLATFORM POLAND (POPR) in municipal election 2006 was supposed to be a demonstration of power and strength of the caucus, being the main positional force in the country. It was aimed on confrontation with Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (PiS) – Law and Justice, and its coalition colleagues: Liga Polskich Rodzin (The League of Polish Families) and Samoobrona Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Sel-defense of Poland). The Platform did not succeed in the elections, for the general number of 2460 of decision makers, i.e. Village Administrators, Town Clerks and City Presidents, it received 46 positions; for the general number of 46789 of Commune Councillors, County Councillors and Province Councillors it received 2749 of positions. In the City President’s Elections it won in 10 cites, including, which is very important from the competitive point of view, Warsaw (the capita city). PORP reached relatively high result in the Provincial Parliament elections. Placing the third place in the elections for the Commune of Country Councillors is a proof for a low level of institutionalization and poor knowledge of the party in the local society. POPR which still functions mainly based on the work of net of Deputy and Senator’s Offices, doesn’t have strong territorial and local leaders in the small towns or country societies, which is a key to success in the municipal elections.
