The cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was one of nearest collaborators John Paul II and a successor to the pope’s throne. During his rules a problem of the Catholic Church became question „dictatorship of the relativism” in Europe. His programme reewangelisation of Europe best gives back what name adopted as the following pope. To accept the name Benedict XVI referred like this to two his own great namesakes: Saint Benedict of the abbot of the cloister Monte Cassino – the patron and creators of the Christian idea of Europe and Benedict XV – the great spokesman of the peace during WWI. Like this Joseph Ratzinger became a spokesman of leaning European integration for rules of the Roman tradition and soft power in international relations.
