This article presents Third Way doctrine in a traditional meaning, before political changes in year 1989. Third Way was used very oft en, by all political powers for many years. Ordoliberalism, agrarism and social democracy are only few projects, which thought of themselves, as a Third Way. Article recounts, how Catholic social teaching, Right wing and Left wing refer to a Third Way idea, as their political, social and economic programme. The most interesting thing is to observe, how this Third Ways were difference and where they were in common. Good understanding of a change of this political idea is very important for a correct appreciation of a New Third Way doctrine identification with Anthony Giddens, Tony Blair and Gerhard Schröder.
