The foreign policy of Ukraine become one of the most significant issues of the public debate during the presidential campaign. Most of the candidates avoided clear statements concerning the geopolitical choice of the state (East– est) and did not present the concept of the foreign policy that could be recognized as a coherent proposition. Candidates were underligning willingly non-bloc and non-aligned status of the State. Discussing the relations with European Union and Russia, they were oft en avoiding questions of NATO integration. Basing on the comparative analysis of the candidates’ programs following tendencies in the Ukraine’s foreign policy can be noticed: pro-Western (W. Juszczenko, J. Tymoszenko i J. Kostenko), pro-Russian (P. Symonenko, W. Janukowycz, I. Bohosłowśka i W. Łytwyn), „non-aligned” (S. Tigipko, L. Suprun i O. Moroz) and isolationism (A. Jaceniuk, O. Tiahnybok i A. Hrycenko).
