Historia wydania dwóch pierwszych singli Elvisa Presleya w wytwórni Sun Studios jest dla dziejów muzyki popularnej przełomem likwidującym dotychczasowe, nieprzekraczalne bariery między etnicznymi odmianami subkultur „czarnej” i „białej” na amerykańskim Południu USA.Emancypacja rasowa spotykała się wówczas z równie istotną emancypacją społeczną.Efektem tych przemian były narodziny rock’n’rolla jako uniwersalnej formuły egalitarnego i powszechnego modelu kultury pop w XX wieku.
The release of the first two Elvis Presley singles at Sun Studios is a breakthrough in the history of popular music, closing down the barriers between the ethnic varieties of the black and white subculture in the American South.Racial racism was then encountered with equally important social emancipation.The result of these changes was the birth of rock’n’roll as the universal egalitarian formula and the universal model of pop culture in the twentieth century.
