In the paper the analysis of the new accounting principles adopted in the Insurance Guarantee Fund was performed with a special reference to their impact on the financial result of the IGF. The new accounting principles of the IGF assume transition from a mixed accounting i. e. memorial cash to a memorial accounting. Implementation of those principles ensures a transparent presentation and an assessment of the IGF financial position as well as a possibility of international comparisons. Adopting of the new accounting principles resulted in 2013 in recording of higher by PLN 83 million statutory income and higher by PLN 73 million statutory costs. In consequence, the financial result of the IGF increased by ca PLN 10 million.
