Wiele postaci „warszawskiej szkoły historyków idei” przesłoniętych jest dziś przez osobę i dzieło Leszka Kołakowskiego. Autor dowodzi, że były w niej postacie nie ustępujące Kołakowskiemu, a może nawet i bardziej znaczące, intelektualnie i kulturowo. Przywołuje postać Andrzeja Nowickiego, jako myśliciela mogącego konkurować z Kołakowskim i zasługującego na ukazanie w „biografii równoległej”, zestawiającej ich losy i poglądy w Polsce po 1945 roku.
Viele Persönlichkeiten der „Warschauer Schule der Ideenhistoriker“ treten heute, von der Persönlichkeit und vom Schaffen Leszek Kołakowskis verhüllt, in den Hintergrund. Der Autor zeigt, dass es dort Personen gab, die Kołakowski ebenbürtig waren, oder ihn sogar intellektuell und kulturell übertrafen. Er erinnert an die Persönlichkeit von Andrzej Nowicki zurück, der als Denker mit Kołakowski konkurrieren konnte und es durchaus verdient, in einer „parallelen Biographie“, die ihre Schicksale und Meinungen in Polen nach 1945 zusammensetzt, dargestellt zu werden.
Many of the protagonists of the “Warsaw school of the historians of ideas” are overshadowed today by the personality and work of Leszek Kołakowski. The author demonstrates that there were figures equal to Kołakowski, and perhaps more significant intellectually and culturally. He recalls Andrzej Nowicki as a thinker capable of competing with Kołakowski and worthy of being presented in a “parallel biography”, juxtaposing their vicissitudes and views in Poland after 1945.
