Kryzys człowieczeństwa – zagrożenie czy szansa?

Celem artykułu jest kontestacja tendencji – nienowej, ale wyraźnej we współczesnym myśleniu o człowieku – do traktowania problemu kryzysu człowieczeństwa w kategoriach funkcji kryzysu cywilizacyjnego. Kryzys rozpoznawany w sferze techniczno-cywilizacyjnej oraz ten, który zagraża użytkującemu ją człowiekowi, to zjawiska niehomogeniczne, a nawet dysjunktywne. Diagnozy obu kryzysów, dotyczące ich przyczyn, konsekwencji i środków zaradczych, stawiano z różnych filozoficznych stanowisk (m. in. szkoła frankfurcka, E. Husserl). Jednak okazuje się, że pełne uchwycenie problemu jest możliwe dopiero pod warunkiem osadzenia go w etycznej przestrzeni spotkania, o którym piszą filozofowie dialogu (M. Buber, A. J. Heschel, E. Lévinas). I o ile kryzysy cywilizacyjne są wyzwaniem do ich przezwyciężenia, o tyle „kryzys człowieczeństwa” jest cenną i wciąż aktualną wskazówką za nieredukowalnością człowieka do cywilizacyjnych ram jego życia.

Das Ziel des Artikels ist es, die keinesfalls neue, doch sichtbare Tendenz im gegenwärtigen Nachdenken über den Menschen zu hinterfragen, die das Problem der Krise der Menschlichkeit in den Kategorien der Funktion der Zivilisationskrise behandelt. Die in der technisch-zivilisatorischen Sphäre erkannte Krise und jene, die den diese Sphäre benutzenden Menschen bedroht, bilden keine homogenen, vielmehr disjunktiven Phänomene. Die Diagnosen der beiden Krisen, die ihre Gründe, Folgen und Vorsorgemaßnahmen betreffen, wurden von unterschiedlichen philosophischen Standpunkten aus gestellt (u. a. die Frankfurter Schule, E. Husserl). Es erweist sich jedoch, dass eine vollständige Erfassung des Problems erst unter der Bedingung möglich ist, es im ethischen Bereich des Treffens zu verorten - davon schreiben die Philosophen des Dialogs (M. Buber, A. J. Heschel, E. Lévinas). Sofern die Zivilisationskrisen dazu herausfordern, sie zu überwinden, so ist die Krise der Menschlichkeit ein wertvoller und stets aktueller Hinweis auf die Irreduzibilität des Menschen auf den zivilisatorischen Rahmen seines Lebens.

The aim of the article is to contest a tendency – one which is not recent but clearly evident in contemporary reflection on the human being – to perceive the problem of the crisis of humanity in terms of a function of a civilisational crisis. The crisis diagnosed in the technological-civilisational sphere and the crisis threatening the human being using this sphere are non-homogeneous and even disjunctive phenomena. Both crisis have been diagnosed as regards their causes, consequences and preventative measures from numerous philosophical positions (the Frankfurt school, E. Husserl, and others). It turns out, however, that the problem may only be fully captured if it is positioned in the ethical space of a meeting, described by philosophers of dialogue (M. Buber, A. J. Heschel, E. Lévinas). And if civilisational crises are challenges to overcome, the „crisis of humanity” is a vital and topical premise supporting the irreducibility of the human being to the civilisational framework of the human life.
