Der Artikel enthält eine kritische Analyse einer Notiz von D. Hume aus Ein Traktat über die menschliche Natur und G. E. Moore‘s Theorie des naturalistischen Fehlschlusses, die in Die Prinzipien der Ethik enthalten ist. Weder der Standpunkt von Hume noch jener von Moore können aufgrund der angedeuteten Mängel eine zufriedenstellende Theorie des naturalistischen Fehlschlusses darstellen. Während Hume’s Erwähnung eher Ausdruck einer gewissen Intuition am Rande seiner Überlegungen ist, lautet die Diagnose von Moore‘s Misserfolgen, dessen Position die Theorie des Fehlers sein will, wie folgt: Der sogenannte naturalistische Fehlschluss kann in der unerlaubten Aufhebung der Einteilung in Theorie und Praxis bestehen. Moore‘s theoretische Versuche sind in der Tat eine Illustration der Ohnmacht der Theorie bei dem Versuch, das Gute zu erfassen. Moores Ablehnung der Spaltung in Theorie und Praxis, die mit Kants psychologischer Interpretation verbunden war (damals vorherrschend), führte dazu, dass Moore‘s Versuch zum Scheitern verurteilt war. Falls die Diagnose richtig ist, dann sollte nach einer neuen Theorie des naturalistischen Fehlschlusses gesucht werden, die die Einteilung in theoretische und praktische Philosophie berücksichtigen würde.

Artykuł zawiera krytyczną analizę wzmianki D. Hume’a z Traktatu o naturze ludzkiej  oraz teorii błędu naturalistycznego G. E. Moore’a, zawartej w Zasadach etyki. Ani stanowisko Hume’a, ani Moore’a nie mogą, ze względu na wskazane braki, stanowić zadowalającej teorii błędu naturalistycznego. O ile wzmianka Hume’a jest na marginesie jego rozważań raczej wyrazem pewnej intuicji, o tyle diagnoza niepowodzeń Moore’a, którego stanowisko aspiruje do miana teorii błędu, jest następująca: tzw. błąd naturalistyczny polegać może na nieuprawnionym zniesieniu podziału na teorię i praktykę. Teoretyczne próby Moore’a stanowią w istocie ilustrację bezsilności teorii w próbach ujęcia dobra. Odrzucenie przez Moore’a podziału na teorię i praktykę, związane z psychologiczną interpretacją Kanta (dominującą w owym czasie), sprawiło, że próba Moore’a była z góry skazana na niepowodzenie. Jeśli diagnoza jest słuszna, należy poszukiwać nowej teorii błędu naturalistycznego, uwzględniającej podział na filozofię teoretyczną i praktyczną.

The article contains a critical analysis of D. Hume’s Law from A Treatise of Human Nature and G.E. Moore’s naturalistic fallacy formulated in Principia Ethica. Due to the indicated shortcomings, neither Hume’s nor Moore’s position is capable of constituting a satisfactory theory of naturalistic fallacy. Whilst Hume’s opinion on the subject-matter only appears on the margin of his considerations and is merely an expression of his intuitions, Moore’s position aspires to become a theory of fallacy. The diagnosis of Moore’s failure at formulating a theory is as follows: the so-called naturalistic fallacy may be based on an unjustifiable abolition of the division between theory and practice. Moore’s theoretical efforts constitute an example of the ineffectiveness of attempts at defining good theoretically. Moore’s rejection of the division between theory and practice connected to a psychological interpretation of Kant (then dominant), resulted in an inevitable failure to formulate a theory. If this diagnosis is legitimate, a new theory of naturalistic fallacy, such that takes into account the division between theory and practice, is needed.
